Small-Cell Lung Cancer Research Gets a Boost
This article reports on a $1.5 million grant from the Andy Hill Cancer Research Endowment to develop a novel liquid biopsy assay, SCLCpheno‑seq, aimed at non‑invasively profiling small‑cell lung cancer (SCLC) and identifying transformation from non‑small cell lung cancer. The assay will assess genomic and transcriptional features in plasma to guide precision oncology and improve clinical responses.
Developing a rapid, non‑invasive biomarker test could enable earlier detection of SCLC, monitor therapeutic resistance, and facilitate targeted treatment of this aggressive cancer, potentially improving survival outcomes.
