Standard breast cancer classification may overlook important differences

Rákkutatás · Breast cancer

This observational study highlights that the current binary classification of breast cancer into estrogen receptor‑positive (ER‑positive) or ER‑negative categories may not adequately reflect the biological continuum and prognostic differences observed across varying levels of estrogen receptor expression.

Accurate sub‑typing of estrogen receptor expression could inform more tailored therapeutic strategies and improve survival outcomes for patients with HER2‑negative breast cancer.
