Recent Progress in Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer is currently one of the deadliest of the solid malignancies.
This review summarizes the current state of knowledge regarding pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, focusing on advances in surgical techniques, novel drug combinations, radiation therapy, and the evolving understanding of its genomic landscape. It highlights the critical role of multidisciplinary care in improving outcomes and outlines promising areas for future research such as targeted therapies for genetically defined subtypes.
Understanding the genetic and environmental risk factors, as well as the therapeutic vulnerabilities of pancreatic cancer, is essential for developing effective screening strategies, tailoring treatment, and ultimately improving survival in a disease with a dismal prognosis.
