Blood test to rule out esophageal cancer

Cancer research · Esophageal cancer

PromarkerEso is a blood test that enables non‑invasive early detection to rule out esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) with a negative predictive value of 99.99 %, 91.4 % sensitivity, and 98.9 % specificity (AUC 0.98, 95 % CI 0.96–1.00).

PromarkerEso is a protein‑based blood diagnostic test that can rule out esophageal adenocarcinoma with high accuracy, achieving a negative predictive value of 99.99 %, sensitivity of 91.4 %, specificity of 98.9 % and an area under the curve of 0.98. The test offers a non‑invasive alternative to endoscopy for patients with gastro‑oesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

The test provides an early, non‑invasive screening tool for esophageal adenocarcinoma, potentially reducing unnecessary endoscopies, improving patient experience and enabling earlier detection of this lethal disease.
