Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup Consensus Recommendations on Clinical Research in Ovarian Cancer

Cancer research · Ovarian cancer

Incorporation of maintenance therapy with PARP inhibitors after first‑line chemotherapy in high‑grade serous or endometrioid ovarian cancer should be considered as part of the reference arm, at least for patients with germline or somatic BRCA mutations or BRCA‑wild‑type tumours with HR‑deficiency.

This consensus conference presents evidence‑based recommendations for the design of ovarian cancer clinical trials, focusing on first‑line treatment, recurrent disease, and unmet needs, emphasizing the role of maintenance PARP inhibitors and angiogenesis inhibitors, and the importance of biomarker‑driven stratification.

These recommendations aim to harmonise clinical trial design worldwide, accelerating therapeutic advances and improving patient outcomes for ovarian cancer patients.
