The SOFT and TEXT phase III trials evaluated the impact of ovarian function suppression (OFS) combined with tamoxifen or exemestane in premenopausal women with hormone receptor‑positive, HER2‑negative early breast cancer. Final 15‑year analysis shows that for high‑risk subgroups (e.g., young age or high‑grade tumors), exemestane + OFS reduced distant recurrence (HR 0.75) and improved overall survival relative to tamoxifen + OFS, whereas the benefit is limited in lower‑risk populations.
