Metastatic Ewing's Trial | Nationwide Children's Hospital
Trial tests a new schedule of chemotherapy drugs to improve outcomes in metastatic Ewing sarcoma.
The Metastatic Ewing's Trial (METTSEO) is a recruiting phase clinical study conducted by Nationwide Children’s Hospital. It evaluates the safety and feasibility of an intensified chemotherapy schedule that alternates drug combinations every 6–8 weeks over a 38‑week period, followed by maintenance therapy for up to 66 weeks. The study seeks to reduce treatment resistance, lower toxicity, and improve quality of life for patients with newly diagnosed, widely metastatic Ewing or CIC‑rearranged sarcoma aged over one year. Biospecimens, imaging, and clinical data will be collected for translational research.
By testing an innovative sequencing of already effective chemotherapy agents, this trial may reduce toxicity, delay resistance, and enhance survival and quality of life for children with metastatic Ewing sarcoma.
