Scientists find a new weakness in treatment-resistant prostate cancer
Researchers at the University of Michigan identified a two‑drug strategy that may halt aggressive prostate cancers that escape hormone therapy by transdifferentiation. Combining BET bromodomain inhibitors with DNA‑methyltransferase (DNMT) inhibitors reversed many identity changes, sharply reduced tumor growth in preclinical models, and was well tolerated in mice, suggesting a promising approach for treatment‑resistant prostate cancer.
