Tecvayli Shows Promise for People with Heavily Pretreated Multiple Myeloma
Teclistamab (Tecvayli) demonstrates high response rates in heavily pretreated multiple myeloma patients in the MajesTEC‑1 trial, with nearly two‑thirds achieving at least a partial response and about 40% achieving complete remission.
Teclistamab (Tecvayli), a bispecific T‑cell engaging antibody that targets BCMA on plasma cells and CD3 on T cells, showed promising activity in heavily pretreated multiple myeloma patients in the single‑arm MajesTEC‑1 study. Approximately 66% of 165 enrolled adults achieved a partial response or better, with 39% achieving complete remission. Median progression‑free survival exceeded 11 months, and responses lasted a median of 18 months.
This approval adds a new therapeutic option for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, a disease with limited treatment choices and poor survival prospects after multiple lines of therapy.
