Inhibitor may turn tumor-protecting immune cells against glioblastoma

Rákkutatás · Glioblastoma

MALT1 inhibition combined with temozolomide improves antitumor immune activity and survival in glioblastoma preclinical models.

Inhibiting MALT1 enzymatic activity reprograms tumor-associated macrophages from a tumor‑promoting to an antitumor phenotype, slows glioblastoma growth, and enhances temozolomide efficacy, significantly increasing median survival in preclinical models.

Enhancing existing chemotherapies could improve outcomes in glioblastoma, a disease with limited treatment options and poor prognosis.
