Systemic therapy with chemotherapy is usually ineffective and new‐targeted therapies have not improved results considerably. ... Clinical trials with anti‑PD‑1 antibodies in monotherapy and in combination with anti‑CTLA‑4 are currently recruiting patients worldwide.
Demonstrates a measurable survival benefit for patients with metastatic uveal melanoma treated with the checkpoint inhibitor Ipilimumab, a therapeutic approach not previously validated in this disease.
