Testing the Effects of Novel Therapeutics for Newly Diagnosed, Untreated Patients With High-Risk Acute Myeloid Leukemia (A MyeloMATCH Treatment Trial)

The phase II MyeloMATCH trial evaluates whether experimental regimens—including daunorubicin and cytarabine liposome alone, cytarabine plus venetoclax, azacitidine plus venetoclax, and daunorubicin and cytarabine liposome with venetoclax—are more effective at eliminating acute myeloid leukemia (AML) than the standard cytarabine and daunorubicin combination.

The MyeloMATCH clinical trial (Phase II) compares the standard cytarabine and daunorubicin regimen to several experimental treatments in adults aged 18–59 with newly diagnosed, untreated high‑risk AML. Experimental arms include cytarabine liposome alone, cytarabine plus venetoclax, azacitidine plus venetoclax, and daunorubicin and cytarabine liposome with venetoclax. The study aims to determine whether these novel therapies can achieve a higher rate of disease clearance compared with the established chemotherapy backbone.

High‑risk AML has poor prognosis with conventional therapy. Demonstrating superior efficacy of new regimens could improve remission rates and overall survival for patients who otherwise have limited treatment options.
