A trial of mifamurtide for advanced osteosarcoma (MEMOS)
The MEMOS trial investigates the efficacy of mifamurtide in patients with advanced osteosarcoma that recurs after treatment and is not amenable to complete surgical resection.
The Phase 2 MEMOS study evaluated mifamurtide, an immunotherapeutic agent, in adults and adolescents with relapsed or refractory osteosarcoma that could not be fully surgically resected. The trial was conducted between 31 Oct 2014 and 29 Jun 2016 and is now closed.
Determining whether mifamurtide can improve outcomes for patients with limited treatment options in advanced osteosarcoma is vital, as current therapies for relapsed disease are largely ineffective and survival rates remain poor.
