Novel ADC shows antitumor activity in patients with advanced ovarian cancer
Rina‑S, an investigational antibody‑drug conjugate targeting folate receptor alpha, demonstrates antitumor activity in patients with advanced ovarian cancer
A phase 1/2 open‑label study (RAINFOL‑01) evaluated the novel antibody‑drug conjugate Rina‑S, targeting folate receptor alpha, in 42 heavily pretreated patients with advanced ovarian cancer. 22.7% of patients receiving 100 mg/m² and 55.6% receiving 120 mg/m² achieved confirmed objective responses, including two complete responses in the higher dose group. The drug was generally well tolerated, with low blood counts and gastrointestinal side effects. These results support further investigation of Rina‑S in phase 2 and phase 3 trials.
These findings demonstrate that an anti‑folate receptor alpha ADC can elicit objective responses in heavily pretreated advanced ovarian cancer, offering a potential new therapeutic option for this high‑morbidity disease.
