EPHA3, upregulated in high-risk histological subtypes of gastrointestinal stromal tumor, promotes GIST progression
EPHA3 promotes the malignant progression of gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
EPHA3 expression is elevated in high‑risk gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and contributes to aggressive cellular behavior in vitro. Loss‑of‑function studies demonstrate that EPHA3 knockout attenuates proliferation and migration while promoting apoptosis, suggesting a role in malignant progression.
This finding identifies EPHA3 as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker in high‑risk GISTs, guiding future clinical interventions.
