The Phase‑3 KEYNOTE‑B96 trial met its key secondary endpoint of overall survival in all patients with platinum‑resistant recurrent ovarian cancer.

KEYNOTE‑B96, a randomized, double‑blind Phase‑3 trial combining pembrolizumab with paclitaxel (± bevacizumab), demonstrated a statistically significant overall survival benefit versus placebo plus the same chemotherapy backbone in all patients with platinum‑resistant recurrent ovarian cancer, including those with PD‑L1 expressing tumors.

Improved overall survival provides the first evidence that an immune‑checkpoint inhibitor‑based regimen can extend life for patients with platinum‑resistant recurrent ovarian cancer, a disease with historically poor outcomes and limited treatment options.
