This article reviews the evidence supporting tumor treating fields (TTF) as an adjuvant or monotherapy for various solid tumors, highlighting its impact on overall survival (OS) and progression‑free survival (PFS) in glioblastoma, non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), pancreatic cancer, and malignant pleural mesothelioma. Despite demonstrated survival benefits and minimal toxicity, real‑world uptake has been slow, underscoring the need for broader provider education, patient support, and reimbursement strategies. Ongoing and future clinical trials are investigating TTF combinations with chemo‑immunotherapy, radiotherapy, and targeted agents across multiple tumor types.
TTF offers a non‑invasive, well‑tolerated alternative that can prolong survival with low toxicity compared to standard chemotherapies for lethal solid tumors such as glioblastoma, NSCLC, pancreatic cancer, and mesothelioma.
