The team at Harvard Medical School combined histology with single‑cell imaging technologies to construct large‑scale 2‑D and 3‑D spatial maps of colorectal cancer. The resulting atlases, described in the journal *Cell*, layer extensive molecular information on top of histological features, revealing novel structural details, immune‑microenvironment heterogeneity, and dynamic transitions within individual tumors. These comprehensive maps aim to advance research, improve diagnosis, and guide precision‑medicine strategies for colorectal cancer patients.
