Kite Pharma announces positive results for patients with relapsed or refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia after receiving anti‑CD19 CAR‑T cells
Kite Pharma announced positive Phase‑1 results showing a 70 % complete response rate in relapsed or refractory ALL patients treated with anti‑CD19 CAR‑T cells.
Phase 1 data from the NCI Pediatric Oncology Branch showed a 70 % complete response rate in 20 heavily pre‑treated pediatric or young adult patients with relapsed or refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) following infusion of anti‑CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells (KTE‑C19). Six‑tenths achieved MRD‑negative CR, with 10 patients proceeding to hematopoietic stem‑cell transplantation (HSCT) and remaining disease‑free at median 10‑month follow‑up.
The data demonstrate that anti‑CD19 CAR‑T therapy can induce durable remissions in heavily pre‑treated ALL patients, offering a promising new treatment avenue for those with limited options.
