Majeti Lab Research
Acute myeloid leukemia can be cured only by eliminating leukemia stem cells, because their persistence leads to relapse in most patients.
The Majeti Lab investigates the biology of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), focusing on leukemia stem cell biology, clonal evolution, and genetic and epigenetic mechanisms, with the aim of developing targeted therapies.
Eliminating leukemia stem cells may overcome relapse of AML and improve overall survival of patients.
