Clinical Trial Evaluates Promising Combination Therapy for Metastatic Uveal Melanoma - Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
Darovasertib (IDE196) combined with crizotinib shows high disease‑control rates in patients with metastatic uveal melanoma.
A phase 2/3 clinical trial at Roswell Park investigates the dual therapy of darovasertib (IDE196) and crizotinib for metastatic uveal melanoma. Prior phase‑2 results demonstrated a 90 % disease‑control rate in 20 first‑line patients and 87 % in 63 patients across all lines. The regimen specifically targets HLA‑A*02‑01‑negative disease, a rare subtype with poor prognosis, and will compare its efficacy to standard therapies such as pembrolizumab, ipilimumab/nivolumab, and dacarbazine in a broad international cohort.
Metastatic uveal melanoma is a rare cancer with a 5‑year survival rate around 16 %. There is currently no widely accepted standard of care, and the novel combination of darovasertib and crizotinib offers a biology‑driven therapeutic option that may improve disease control for these patients.
