The review also discusses the influence of genetic predisposition—with emphasis on BRCA1/2, HOXB13, MSI pathway genes, and androgen‑related genes—on disease risk and progression, as well as lifestyle factors such as diet, vitamin D, and obesity. Potential protective effects of statins, metformin, and NSAIDs are considered, along with the evolving role of molecular diagnostics.
Prostate cancer remains the leading cancer among men and a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Understanding its epidemiology, risk factors, and therapeutic landscape is essential for clinicians, patients, and researchers to improve early detection, personalize treatment, and reduce mortality.
