Uveal melanoma with a GNA11/GNAQ mutation secretes VEGF for systemic spread
Uveal melanoma cells harboring GNA11 or GNAQ mutations secrete VEGF, which permeabilizes the endothelial barrier and promotes systemic spread; this process can be inhibited by anti‑VEGF therapy or a novel peptide (KAI).
