New fibroblast state reveals how lung tumors may suppress immune defenses

Cancer research · NSCLC

CHL1-expressing fibroblasts in lung tumors recruit immunosuppressive regulatory T cells via CXCL9, limiting antitumor immune responses.

Targeting the regulatory T cells drawn in by the fibroblasts could unleash the immune system and offer a promising strategy against lung cancer.
